My Rating System

Everyone seems to have their own ways and reasoning for rating books what they do, so I thought I would give you some insight into how I rate books and why I rate them the way I did:

5 Stars – No flaws that I can find or that distract from the storyline. Easily one of my favorite books. If there is a sequel I will likely pick up the sequel or other books written by the same author. Would recommend to a lot of different types of readers.

4 Stars – Minor flaws here and there. An enjoyable read, but not a favorite. I may or may not pick up the sequel or other things written by the same author. Would still recommend to a lot of different types of readers.

3 Stars – Some fundamental flaws whether in the plot, character development, or grammar. Still liked the read, but will likely not pick up the sequel or anything else written by the author. Would still recommend to certain groups of readers.

2 Stars – Lots of problems in the story plot, characters or enough grammatical errors to distract from the storyline. Did not enjoy, but managed to still finish the book. Probably would not recommend to others.

1 Star – Lots of problems in the story plot, characters or enough grammatical errors to distract from the storyline. Did not enjoy enough to even finish the book.

*Note* I hardly ever give 1 star ratings simply be cause I like to finish books that I have started and sometimes I come back to books that I put down earlier simply because I wasn’t in the mood to read them before.
